Heart And Stroke Duck Race
The 17th annual Masonic Heart and Stroke “Great Rubber Duck Race” was held at the Chesterville Boat Launch on Sunday August 3rd. Proceeds from this event are shared equally between the Masonic Association of Eastern District and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Thanks to the support of the local communities, this years ticket sales were at an all time high. The Masonic Association uses the proceeds to partially fund its bursary program. This program awards bursaries to deserving students throughout the Eastern Masonic District (Cardinal to Cornwall to Hawkesbury) pursuing post secondary education. Since 1992 in excess of $117,000 has been awarded. The Heart and Stroke Foundation uses their portion of the proceeds to fund the ongoing programs of that organization.
Since 1992 the M.A.E.D has raised over $58,753 for the Foundation through the sale of Duck Race tickets. Ticket sales usually begin in April and he race is typically run at the beginning of August . Tickets are available from any Mason in Eastern District or the secretary of a lodge near you Click here for a list . The race is held at the Chesterville boat launch in Chesterville, Ontario.
